In August 2007, Western New York’s top soccer clubs, the Rochester Junior Rhinos, Syracuse Football Club and Buffalo United Soccer Club joined together to form the Empire United Soccer Academy. 

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution has formed a strategic partnership with New York-based Empire United, a youth development program that also plays in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. Beginning with the 2012-13 season, Empire United will become “Revolution Empire, A New England Revolution Soccer Club.”

Congratulations to the Empire Rochester BU13 Blue team, and coaches, for winning the championship at the Match Fit Chelsea Invitational in Princeton New Jersey March 31- April 1. The boys went undefeated with zero goals against. Great job boys!

The Rochester GU17 Blue team began their 2012 Colonial league season by playing Syracuse Empire to a 0-0 draw on the Henninger turf in Syracuse, March 18th.  The game was well played.  Good goalkeeping on both sides largely explained the score.

Jonas Haylofts Fundingsrud was a passionate young soccer player when his father’s work brought his family to Rochester in 2008.

His soccer aspirations brought him to Empire United (then Jr. Rhinos) where Jonas helped his teammates and Coach Jeff Oliver capture the NYSW BU14 State Championships.

Empire Girls U15 Red team took the Jersey shore by storm, winning their first tournament of the year while playing outdoors for the first time since last summer.  The girls went a perfect 3-0 in the tournament while outscoring the opposition 10-0 with scores of 4-0 over Twin County SA Liberty and Sayreville Stars and 2-0 in the finale against Jersey Knights Force, their toughest competition of the weekend.

Congratulations to the GU16 State Academy Team for placing 1st in their group @ the 2012 Jefferson Cup Tournament, registering 3 shutouts.  The team finished 2nd overall out of 12 teams in their division, with just a single point separating the 1st & 2nd place teams.

The Empire USA Rochester GU15 Blue team won their division at the prestigious Jefferson Cup going 2-0-1 in bracket play and winning an exciting final 2-1 on penalty kicks. 

Congratulations to the Empire United Rochester GU14 Blue Team, and coaches, for winning the Arlington Spring Invitational in Arlington, VA.  The girls went undefeated in 4 games to win the top U14 Girls Division on March 11, 2012.  The team beat BRYC 97Elite (based in Virginia) 1 to 0, Richmond Kickers Elite (based in Virginia) 1 to 0, and tied ABGC Samba (based in Virginia) 1 to 1.  The girls then went into the final and played Empire United Syracuse GU14 Blue team, beating them 2 to 0, to win the Championship. Great Job Girls!!!

Congratulations to the Rochester BU12 team for placing first in their division and finishing as Finalists in the Championship at the Jefferson Cup Showcase over the weekend ... Way to go Boys!!
