The 16 Girls Blue team completed the colonial league schedule by recording a 1 – 0 win in Kirkwood Delaware over a strong FC Virginia FPYC Cardinals side.  The girls went undefeated in league play to advance to the championship game that gained the team promotion into the Region 1 premier league for the 2011 season.

The league championship follows a string of successful showcase events for the team this season.  The team was victorious in 3 of 4 showcase tournaments.  The 16 girls went undefeated in 3 tournaments to garner championships at the CASL Showcase, Jefferson Cup Showcase - Elite Division and the Adidas Blue Chip Showcase in the under 16 division.  At Jefferson Cup and at Blue Chip, it was the team’s first placement in the top flights and they responded exceptionally well by capturing first in their respective brackets.  At Blue Chip, the team captured the championship for the entire age group by compiling the most points of any team in the U-16 division.

The coaches praised the team for it’s unity, discipline, and professional approach to training and competition as keys to their success this season.  In addition, the tireless efforts of their manager and parent support were critical to the girls’ development and success.
