Web Site Transition to 2010-11 Season
Saturday, August 14, 2010

With tryouts complete and a successful 2009-10 season behind us, it’s time to start cleaning up the website and preparing to make the transition to the new 2010-11 season.  Over the next couple of weeks, I will begin to archive all of the information on each team’s private and public team pages.  None of the information will be deleted, but you will no longer have access to it through your team pages.

This is the first time we’ve gone through a seasonal transition since we started using Demosphere, so I’m not exactly sure how everything will work, but I’m confident that no information will be lost.  If you need any of the information off any of your team pages before it is archived, please copy it to your personal computer.  If I archive it before you get a chance to copy it, just let me know and I’ll retrieve it for you.

Next year’s team pages will begin with the posting of the tryout numbers of the players selected for the 2010-11 teams.  Provided I get the information from the coaches, I’ll have the lists posted buy the end of next week.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your help and patience during this first year with Demosphere.  We’ve come a long way in a short period of time, and I’m looking forward to improving the web sites for 2010-11.  In order to make the web sites more valuable to you as managers, and to the club, I need your feedback ... positive or negative.  Please feel free to forward any comments, suggestions, gripes or frustrations to me at your earliest convenience.  I can’t promise I’ll be able to address everything, but I’ll do my best to address the most pressing issues as quickly as possible.

I also want to say a special thank you to Kelly Firenze (Syracuse) and Steve Charbonneau (Buffalo) for their help with the local Buffalo and Syracuse pages.  Without their help, I might never have found time to get away from my computer!

Thanks again for everything you do for the players, the coaches and the club ... your tireless effort and dedication is one of the key reasons Empire United is the number one club in Western New York!

Enjoy what’s left of the summer!

Yours In Soccer,

Dave
